Erickson

“The Land of the Vikings” was originally settled by Scandinavian people, which is reflected in the many unique areas and family names. A diverse blend of ethnic backgrounds now represents the area. Erickson is located just south of Riding Mountain National Park – a beautiful natural setting. At the south end of Riding Mountain National Park is Clear Lake which is fabulous for swimming and fishing in the summer. The town of Wasagaming has many shops and restaurants that cater to tourists and locals alike. There are many lakes in the region for people to enjoy all year long. The rolling hills and valleys surrounding Erickson provide an idyllic place for farming and rural life.

Erickson is an active community that offers many recreational activities. During the winter months there are cross-country ski trails and groomed snowmobile trails. In the spring and summer many people head to the park to participate in fishing, boating and other water sports.

Erickson Collegiate is a small Grade 7-12 school (145 students). The staff is committed to providing a safe and positive learning environment that fosters respect, responsibility, and excellence.
