Killarney

In Killarney the global economy is at your fingertips, while the beach and the golf course are in your backyard. Blessed with natural beauty and urban amenities, Killarney is ideally located in central Canada. The community is situated on a beautiful lake that is a great place for swimming, boating and fishing in the summer and snowmobiling, skating and ice fishing in the winter. Also appealing is its beautiful 18 hole golf course and new recreation complex.  The Shamrock Center houses a skating/hockey arena, curling rink, bowling alley and fitness center.  If you want to be active, this is a great place to be!

Killarney is a vibrant and active community. The town hosts many community events during the year such as Rip Roarin’ Bull Riding, Summer Blast and Fair Days and The Beach Festival. These events are a great testament to the many volunteers in the community that are always up to the challenge of planning and organizing such large activities.

Killarney Collegiate Institute, with a student enrollment approaching 500 and approximately 30 teaching staff, is one of the largest Kindergarten to Grade 12 schools in rural Manitoba.

The staff and students are busy throughout the year with more than just academics.  The school supports several sports teams: hockey, volleyball, basketball, badminton, baseball and track and field to name a few.

KCI also has a full band program. The bands perform at school concerts during the year. Several students from the Killarney band program were selected to play in the Westman Honor Band this year with their peers from the Western Manitoba area. It was a great opportunity for these students to learn and showcase their skills.

Killarney is a great place to live, work, and raise a family.
