Boissevain SchoolI am perfect. The people here is very friendly. The school is good, the best courses are I.C.T in the Mac lab and gim class. The courses are good, some of them difficult but most of the teachers are awesome and i receive a lot of help and support of them. The most difficult class is Geography of Canada because i don’t know a lot of Canada.

I am in the basketball team in the school and it’s great. We are not the best team but soon. I found some really good friends here and some of them are coming to Mexico next summer for sure. Yes, Canada is very different but it’s ok. The WEATHER is extremely different such as the persons and the food. We don’t have thanks given and some other things like Terry fox.

My family here (the Neufelds) are the most healthy and peaceful persons that i know. I love the fresh breath with the home made jam and i have a big list of things that i really like of this place. I learned how to cook rise after i burn it.

Maggie and David are very good persons with a level of patience really high. I know that they hate bullfighting but they tolerate my addiction to it. They have a lot of respect to my things and i appreciate that.
Jonah is a very interesting guy. He is very good juggling.

Thanks to David and Maggie i have a enormous jacket, gloves, boots and all the kit to stay warm here. I feel just like in home! Yes, I’m going to Mexico for 3 weeks. I come back the 8 of January.

Thanks for all your attention,
Eric Del Rio Wenning,
International Student from Mexico

Jade Hsu CavasinIt seemed like just yesterday I was sitting in the airplane thinking about my new adventure. There were so many things on my mind, so many questions. I was excited, of course, but there were so many emotions going on at the same time. I must confess I was a little insecure. Leaving everything behind to go to another part of the world looked tough. It could be hard being far from the comfort of my home and the security of my culture where you know how things work and the things you can or can’t do. But I was excited and with my heart open for new experiences.

All my insecurity was gone when I met the family I would stay with. From that moment on I knew I would have a great time here. Staying at Pierson with Darcy, Jocelyn, Linkn, Rori and Rixn Jacobson and attending school at Pierson, made sure of that.

I did lots of different things in Canada. Staring from the moment I left the airport and saw the snow for the first time. I was totally amazed by that. The winter is wonderful here, despite the very cold, especially for me who came from Brazil, a tropical country in South America.

In March, The spring came bringing the green grass, the sun and the flowers. Canada is such a beautiful country. I couldn’t have chosen a better place to go. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking. The peace here makes me feel great.

I will miss so many things: Canada’s natural beauty, the snow, poutine, my host mom’s cookies, Tim Hortons, all the amazing things you can do during the winter, even the school. Not to mention the lovely people I met and the friends I made.

Going for an exchange program was certainly the best choice I made. Travelling to another country changes your way to see the world. When you are travelling without your family, friends or people you know, you learn a lot about yourself. You learn that you are stronger than you thought you were and that you can handle much more than you thought you were able to. You meet people who will like you or hate you for what you are from that moment on. They won’t compare you with the things you have done or the people you walk with. It’s just you, like a blank slate ready to be written.

All this experience makes you grow a lot as a person. I feel much more mature and independent.

Thanks everybody who made this experience more than I have ever imagined. Thank you, Canada, I will miss you so much.

Kevin TutthillWe are most proud that our school is a K - 12 school, and we have students in our building that range in age from 5 years to 19 years, and we try to ensure that every activity we carry out as a school has something for everyone! Our student council plans activities throughout the year, and when they do the first question they ask themselves is: "Is this doable for all?" That is our overriding principle, inclusion! Our school opens many mornings very early, and sometimes closes late at night. We strive to be a hub for our community that has a multitude of activities and programs being offered so that everyone feels that they are an integral part of the Elkhorn School Community!

Prinicpal of Elkhorn School

What makes me most proud (besides small classes, technology, and sports) is that we are a student centered school and that I have a great staff that is kind, caring, and goes above and beyond for our students and families. Our school is all about building relationships and character development (core values).

Barry Lee,
Principal of Elton Collegiate
